Ian Wagner, Producer with Fantail Entertainment, and the PGA Education Committee, will be offering a 4-hour Master Class that will be hosted by the Pepperdine Institute of Entertainment, Media & Culture (iEMC), as part of iEMC's "Next Wave in Entertainment" series. The Crowdsourcing Master Class will be held at Pepperdine's Culver City campus. It will focus on the process, requirements, techniques and companies who specialize in online and other forms of crowdsource-funding for film, television and other media projects.

The Raw Science Film Festival (RSFF), now in its third year, honors films on science and technology worldwide. The film festival partners are Explore Mars, Space Tourism Society Canada, and the Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination. Categories include fiction and non-fiction for both students and professionals. Cash prizes are awarded. Animations and infographics are welcomed. he winners of the Raw Science Film Festival will be screened during the day at Fox Studios inside the historic Zanuck Theater on Saturday, December 10, 2016. The screening is followed by a black-tie-optional Awards Ceremony in true hosted "awards show" fashion that will be live-streamed with magic, brain games, and immersive experiences. The theme of the event is "Space 3.0," the development of private space in addition to augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality experiences. They were able to hear inside stories about how studio lawyers and technology teams service the varied needs of their film, television, video and other clients, and keep pace with the demands of new technology and pirate operations in order to protect the Intellectual Property assets of the Studio and its partners.

Salma Hayek Named The WIFTS Animation Awardee
Actress, producer and director Salma Hayek has been named as the recipient of The Women’s International Film & Television Showcase (TheWIFTS) Animation Award 2015 for her labor of love adaptation of Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet. Hayek is one of 23 honorees for this year’s International Visionary Awards, being held for the eighth year this month at Knoll, West Hollywood.
