Journeys in Film™ (JiF) Moves Center to USC's Rossier School of Education

Joanne Ashe, Executive Director of Journeys in Film ™(JiF), recently announced the move of JiF from the Annenberg Norman Lear Center to USC's Rossier School of Education, with the relationship being overseen by the recently appointed Katzman/Ernst Chair in Educational Entrepreneurship, Technology and Innovation, Professor Alan Arkatov. Believing that most of the critical issues that the United States faces today are international in their scope and complexity, and that our abilities as a nation to meet these challenges will be strengthened by a greater understanding of our global interdependence, realigning with USC's School of Education is a natural progression in the evolution of JiF. William Nix, Chairman of Creative Projects Group^®, joined the JiF Advisory Board last year. Since that time, he has worked actively with Ms. Ashe, Professor Akatov and Rossier's Dean Gallagher on this transitioning process, as well as assisting with creating new strategic relationships, with Participant Media and other media partners.

Aligned with various prominent national initiatives, Journeys in Film believes that helping America's youth develop this kind of worldview and understanding should be a primary 21st century educational goal. Our educational program has proven to be effective in connecting cultures, broadening world-views, teaching for global competency and building a new paradigm for best practices in education. Journeys in Film and USC's Rossier School of Education are committed to seeking new alliances and fostering partnerships that address further advancement of global education programs, as well as those promoting the power of film as a tool for teaching.
