1904 Print Antique East River Bridge Williamsburg Fire Roebling Cable TSM1 ARC3 This is an original 1938This is an original 1904 halftone print of the 1902 East River Bridge Fire in New York. Today, the bridge has been dubbed the Williamsburg Bridge, and spans the East River to connect Manhattan to the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The 1902 fire began in a worker shack and spread to the cables and foot walks. Damage was minimal, so the Roebling Company, which was in charge of the woven cables and rope, simply spliced new wires
