This is an original 1893 halftone print of five men of the 2,500 man force that provided security for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. The so called Columbian Guard was commanded by Col. Edmund Rice, of the United States Army, under orders from architect Burnham, the Director of Works. (Please note that, typical of halftone prints, there is printing on the reverse.)
