William Nix served as a "Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court" in the 20th Annual National Entertainment Moot Court Competition at Pepperdine Law School.
https://law.pepperdine.edu/…/mo…/national-entertainment-law/ The matter presented an interesting set of issues testing the "copyrightability" of a visually depicted character in a television series (riffed off of "Games of Thrones" with the names changed to protect the participants) and whether "fair use" principles would apply because the appellant argued its work was "transformative" under the exemptive satire/parody body of law.
