It stands as a living memory of him and his commitment to showcasing important stories of living legends.

The League was founded by Writer/Director/Producer Kaia Alexander. Kaia is also the Founder/CEO of the Entertainment Business School, and Secret Script Vault (a book imprint for notable un-produced scripts). She also co-hosts the Entertainment Business Wisdom podcast. Her mission is teaching creatives the business side of the entertainment business with holistic inclusive training, courses, certifications and global outreach. She was mentored by late comedian Garry Shandling and novelist Tom Robbins. She was a development executive on the feature films JUST FRIENDS, PEACEFUL WARRIOR and THE GOOD NIGHT. She also coaches screenwriters and executives, and is known for her group, Writing with Kaia, that has members in 30+ countries. Coming in a post-pandemic world in 2022, look for her W3 writer-surf retreats: Writers Wander the Wilds. William Nix has joined the 93rd Oscars Animated Feature Film Nominating Committee to vote on the Best Animated Feature Film of 2020. In accordance with the Academy’s Special Rules for the Animated Feature film Award, “An animated film is defined as a motion picture in which movement and characters’ performances are created using a frame-by-frame technique, and usually falls into one of the two general fields of animation: narrative or abstract. Some of the techniques of animating films include but are not limited to hand-drawn animation, computer animation, stop-motion, clay animation, pixilation, cutout animation, pin screen, camera multiple pass imagery, kaleidoscopic effects created frame-by-frame, and drawing on the film frame itself. Motion capture and real-time puppetry are not by themselves animation techniques. An animated short film has a running time of40 minutes or less. An animated feature film has a running time of more than 40 minutes. In an animated film, animation must figure in no less than 75 percent of the picture’s running time. In addition, a narrative animated film must have a significant number of the major characters animated. If the picture is created in a cinematic style that could be mistaken for live action, the filmmaker(s) must also submit information supporting how and why the picture is substantially a work of animation rather than live action.”

She has had a long career in the entertainment industry, including with the Consumer Products Group, Partnerships & Licensing at NBCUniversal, overseeing the licensing of Universal films and NBC TV properties, and most recently leading their Global Publishing team. She launched the consumer products program for Illumination Entertainment and built the global Minions/Despicable Me consumer products franchise into a multi-billion dollar program at retail around the world.
